My research interests focus on the social, political, and economic transformation of the Roman world through the Middle and Late Republic and the Early Empire. In particular, I am studying the common themes in Roman texts concerning luxury, decadence, and moral corruption, and how these themes influenced the growth and evolution of Roman state power.
